Life Update + Postcards from NAGA, BICOL

It has been a month since my last blog post and I realized that the previous posts are nothing but commercial blogging, for PR purposes, promotions, marketing, whatever they call it. I missed writing my own personal thoughts and feelings like the old times. When I was just starting, I’ve dream of collaborating with these brands that I am working with now. I know my blog isn’t that BIG yet like others, but I really am #blessed with all these opportunities. Also, the reason why only promotional posts are dominating my blog recently is because I can’t focus on creating quality content. For 5 months, I’ve been stuDYING for my board exam. It’s one of the MAJOR exam in my life. So I gone through blogging hiatus for a while to focus on my review. But I still accepted some PR projects that were offered as long as it doesn’t affect my review. It’s been a week now since the results for board exam were out and MY NAME WAS THERE. I PASSED THE BOARDS! So that means, more time for blogging! Haha!

Enough of the intro, the real purpose of this post is to showcase my photography skills. Just kidding. 😂 The day after my board exam, I went to Naga, Bicol with my grandmother. Every November 1st, My grandma would go to Bicol to visit her mother in the cemetery. Since I needed a breather from a 5-month review and 2-day board exam, I decided to go with her.  Our place in Bicol is veryyy different from where I’m staying in Manila. My grandma’s house is located in Baras, a barrio near the municipality of Canaman. To get to the house, you have to walk from the main road and pass through the farm with tall rice plants along a very narrow walk way. Friendly frogs are there to welcome you. Of course your girl screamed at the top of her lungs. I couldn’t help it. I don’t like frogs. Another difference I noticed is the cost of living. The kwek-kwek (quail egg) costs 1-peso compared to Manila which is 3 or 4 pesos per piece. The ‘padyak’ (pedicab) costs only 5 pesos per person in Bicol while the pedicab fare from my school to LRT is 30 to 40 pesos! The jeepney fare remains at 8 pesos while in Manila, the fare hike is close up to 10 pesos. I was just amazed to the point that I wanted to live in Bicol instead! Lol. My grandma and I also visited Basilica of Peñafrancia and Canaman Church. Scroll down to see the photos! 🙂

Review: The Careline Kiss Sticks + Newly Improved Products!

I think most of you would agree that Careline Cosmetics is makeup newbie’s best friend! Everyone considers Careline as their first makeup EVER alongside with other local products with the same price range. It is affordable, it has nice quality and the packaging is too cute and colorful not to notice. I remember my teenager self, looking at the Careline stall at the department store or watsons, being overwhelmed of the huge pile of makeup. So I always end up buying a lip balm or a lip gloss. Haha!

Imagine my excitement when I heard about their re-branding (sort of) and launching of their new product: The Careline Kiss Sticks! If you wanna know my thoughts about all of these products, just keep on reading! 🙂

Fresh, Youthful and Glowing Skin with Nuessence

It has become innate in today’s society that having the trendiest and best looking makeup isn’t enough anymore. Everyone has learned that beauty is beyond just the filters on Instagram, but really, it’s what we intake whether it be food that we eat or the supplements that naturally help our beauty to come out and glow from within.

As we have become conscious about what we put on our skin, the effects of the products that we purchase must live up to our expectations. With this in mind, as consumers, we are after products that don’t just give us promises, but actually deliver and take effect when we use them regularly.

Pastel Works

Last April 14, 2018, I was one of the lucky people who was able to attend Nuffnang’s event: BLOGOPOLIS: The Digital Journey, held at Dusit Thani Manila. It is the biggest blog and social media conference in the Philippines gathering the country’s top bloggers, best social media influencers, and finest digital experts to share their knowledge and insights about anything blogging and digital media. If you want to know what happened on the event here’s the link to Nuffnang’s blog:

Attendees were required to wear a smart casual outfit. Due to a short notice, I didn’t have much time to prepare for my outfit and decided to mix and match some pieces on my closet. And here’s what I wore to the event:

Get Hair Stronger than the Sun This Summer with the New Limited Edition Pantene UV Rescue

Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the country’s beautiful beaches, snorkel in its inviting waters, or go for a dive into a deep blue pool. It is also a great time to enjoy fun activities under the blazing sun, whether it is for outdoor water activities, weekend hikes, biking around or just relaxing sunbathing.
Unfortunately, despite all the fun that the season brings, it can spell trouble for your hair. The intense heat from the sun can damages your hair, leaving it brittle and dry. The heat from the sun during summer season comes to its peak, with the Solar UV index regularly rising above average, especially in a tropical country like the Philippines. UV rays dehydrate the hair and break down its essential protein. If you go swimming, salt in beach waters as well as chlorine in swimming pools can cause further damage on your hair. We protect our skin from the UV, yet usually not our hair despite it being 3x more vulnerable to sun damage.
